Would you like to work on impactful backend projects in a work environment built to support your professional development? As a Senior Backend Developer at Nitor, you'll work with our clients' core infrastructure and systems, building solutions that businesses can rely on.

🧑‍🚀 Brief Description of Your Work

As a Senior Backend Developer at Nitor, you participate in designing and implementing our clients' system architecture and integrations. A significant part of your role is integrating our clients' business focus into the code you write. It's important that the solutions you build combine performance, cost-effectiveness, and beautifully simple, maintainable code.

Your tools include, depending on the client project, Java, Node.js, Kotlin, C#, Python, REST, databases, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), various testing frameworks, and CI/CD tools. Sometimes you'll also get to utilize your possible functional programming skills, for example with Clojure.

We apply test automation, continuous delivery, and other agile development methods following the DevOps model. However, more important than following any single tool is independent thinking and a pragmatic approach to applying proven practices.

More Concrete

Our client projects are typically challenging yet professionally rewarding entities that offer experienced backend developers the opportunity to both leverage and deepen their expertise. Project duration is often from one to several years depending on your own preferences. In most projects, you work as part of the client's development team alongside other experienced Nitorians.

🤝 We Continuously Develop Our Backend Expertise

We have experience implementing significant, technically demanding backend systems. Our client satisfaction is top-notch, and we continuously develop our operations.

Our gaze is firmly on the future. When you become our colleague, we believe it will take us another step forward – while we look for assignments that support your career and are technically interesting. With us, you get to create the kind of work life you envision, influencing our shared future.

Your future developer colleagues value high technical expertise, continuous learning, and a genuine desire to do quality work for clients. If the pieces fall into place, you'll complete this group just as you are.

✅ What Could You Bring With You?

You'll excel in this role when you have a deep understanding of how modern backend systems work and are built, and how system architecture and infrastructure solutions support business needs.

To act as a value-adding expert in client projects, you have several years of experience in backend development as well as architecture and infrastructure solutions.

You have strong expertise in multiple programming languages. Java, Kotlin, Node.js, or C# are typically used in our client projects. Additionally, you have database and cloud technology expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP) as well as experience with various testing frameworks and CI/CD tools.

Since backend developer work requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, we value a consultative and client-focused mindset. You need to understand the client's business needs and be able to communicate about technical solutions to both development teams and business management.

Fluent Finnish and English language skills are important, as we have clients both domestically and internationally.

The more diverse experience you have, the more opportunities it opens right from the start. However, we don't want to define too precisely what you should be like – the pieces can fall into place in so many ways.
