Teemu Pesonen appointed as Nitor’s Chief Operating Officer

Teemu Pesonen joined Nitor earlier this year as Vice President of Operations. He transitioned into the COO role during the spring as new CEO Jens Krogell assembled the company’s leadership team.

Via his new position, Pesonen is responsible for Nitor’s operational management, the development of service areas and business systems, and subcontracting. His goal is to strengthen Nitor’s means of harnessing data and AI so that systems yield better support for Nitorean everyday work, decision-making, and growth.

“Nitor has a strong brand, long-standing customer relationships, and an exceptionally skilled community. The ongoing market transformation represents a huge opportunity for us. Customer needs have evolved. There is growing demand for business-savvy consultants with industry experience and the ability to tackle real-world business challenges with digital solutions and AI,” says Pesonen.

Pesonen migrated to Nitor from Siili Solutions, where he worked as COO. Early in his career, he co-founded Vala Group and helped grow the company from nearly zero to over ten million euros in revenue before Siili acquired a majority stake in 2018.

Altogether, Pesonen has roughly 15 years of experience in the software sector, particularly in developing expert organisations and leading growth.

Pesonen feels his role is not to alter this foundation but to help make daily work smoother and more sustainable.

“I want to nurture Nitor’s culture, where top professionals share their knowledge and solve our clients’ challenges in positive spirits. I’ve seen how losing that sense of ease also erodes joy, which ultimately leads to diminishing results. Operational work is often about removing invisible obstacles and oiling the machinery. I feel my success stems from the success of my peers,” Pesonen notes.

Pesonen notes that leveraging AI can help build an even stronger self-service culture at Nitor, with experts having the appropriate information and tools to work efficiently on their own.

“Nitor has no tolerance for unnecessary bureaucracy, and neither do I. That’s why leadership and systems development should primarily result in a better-functioning whole. With smartly designed systems and automation, an organisation can remain flat while supporting a culture of autonomy,” Pesonen states.

Fueling growth with a new strategy

Nitor is aiming for organic revenue growth of over 10 % in 2026. Pesonen sees the current market situation as an opportunity to strengthen the company’s position, as demand for high-quality, business-driven digital development continues to grow.

Nitor’s strategy is to build sustainable digital success for its customers via AI solutions that evolve, adapt, and grow alongside their business.

“My task is to maintain Nitor as a home for top talent, because it’s the best professionals who solve customers’ toughest challenges at critical moments. In the age of AI, our experienced experts deliver measurable business impact. AI tools are to enhance Nitorean capabilities, not replace them,” Pesonen explains.

In his free time, Pesonen cares for his newborn daughter and enjoys nature. Summers are spent on the golf course and at the family’s archipelago cottage. He also maintains his well-being through strength training and other physical activities. Some of his best workdays start early in the morning at Nitor’s office.

“I enjoy working close to others. The best part of my day is the morning when I can walk to the office around seven, grab a coffee on our rooftop terrace, and tackle the day’s toughest challenges before the day’s meetings begin,” Pesonen says.
