🧑🚀 Brief Description of Your Work
As an MLOps Engineer/Architect at Nitor, you are the team's ML infrastructure expert who not only designs but also implements. You get to transform data scientists' prototypes into functional, robust, and scalable production systems.
Your responsibility is to establish ML platforms in customer projects in close collaboration with, for example, Data Platform and Machine Learning teams. Your role typically includes deploying ML platforms (such as AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure Machine Learning, or Kubeflow), converting PoC applications into production-ready systems, supporting ML engineers in model deployment, and building feature engineering pipelines.
The most important aspect of your work is understanding both the needs of data science teams and the requirements of production systems. You build systems that combine performance, security, cost-efficiency, and data governance practices. You ensure that ML models remain operational and update automatically when new data arrives.
From a technological perspective, IaC tools (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), and ML platforms are part of your daily work. You may also get to dive into distributed training techniques, such as the Ray framework.
Our customer projects are typically challenging, technically demanding entities where you get to build ML infrastructure from the ground up. Project durations are usually from one year to several years depending on your own preferences. In most projects, you work as part of the customer's development team together with other experienced Nitorians.
Our gaze is firmly on the future. When you become our colleague, we believe it will take us another step forward – while we look for assignments that support your career and are technically interesting. With us, you get to create the kind of work life you want, influencing our shared future.
✅ What Could You Bring With You?
You'll excel in this role when you have a deep understanding of how ML systems work in production and how to build them scalably. You understand ML platform architecture patterns (training and serving, workflows, security, cost optimization) and can apply them in practice.
You have experience setting up ML platforms, such as AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure Machine Learning, Kubeflow, or similar. You master at least one cloud service (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
You know IaC tools and CI/CD processes (Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) and understand how they integrate with ML workflows.
Since MLOps work is multidisciplinary by nature, we value the ability to understand both data science teams' needs and infrastructure constraints. You should be able to communicate about technical solutions to both ML engineers and business management. Strong communication skills are important.
We consider experience with distributed training, Ray framework or similar, as well as knowledge of Databricks and data lake architectures as an advantage.
Additionally, we consider fluent Finnish and English language skills as an advantage, as we have customers both domestically and internationally.
The more diverse experience you have, the more opportunities it opens up right from the start. However, we don't want to define too precisely what you should be like – the pieces can fall into place in so many ways.
🏆 What If You Choose Us?
We believe that recruitment isn't about a company choosing a new employee. You ultimately make the choice. And we can help you with that.
