Joakim Norberg is our newest addition to Nitor in Sweden. With a long experience in software development in both technical and managerial roles, he is looking forward to being part of the Nitor family as the Stockholm office grows.

Our new consultant, Joakim Norberg, will be a key person in shaping and growing Nitor's office in Stockholm. As he is making the transition from working for notably bigger consulting companies in the past, Joakim is eager to start with new challenges at Nitor.

"It feels great to embark on this journey with Nitor. Consulting is not that different at its core, it is what you surround yourself with that makes all the difference. It will be an exciting ride, being part of the personal and familiar Nitor culture, as well as growing our business in Stockholm", Joakim says.

Joakim has been working in consulting ever since completing his master's degree. Trying different things through work has turned out to be a recipe for an interesting journey.

"I was kind of on the fence about what I wanted to do – all the way through university actually. It felt very natural to step into the consulting business, to have the opportunity to try different things, and give myself some more time to figure out what I want to work with. My passion is maybe not one thing but rather the journey of taking on different kinds of challenges, varying types of roles, industries, and cultures and adapting myself to be a good fit.

In the end, product development is a challenge that everyone needs to own and feel committed to, whether you're a product owner, a developer or a tester. And it's all the better if you can understand each other, everyone feels more involved and engaged. And if that happens, one of the keys to building a great product is in place."

Joakim had no intention of changing jobs when Nitor reached out in the late spring of this year, but he became curious and wanted to know more. What really caught his interest was the culture at Nitor, where professionalism goes hand-in-hand with a warm openness, and where everyone cares about each other, professionally and privately.

"I was very happy where I was. But I think, for all the changes that the pandemic brought, it also made me think about who I was and where I was in life. When Nitor contacted me, I went into the recruitment process with relaxed openness, thinking that it couldn't hurt to have a few discussions.”

What Joakim found through the interview process was a culture that fit like a glove.

“I was blown away by the people I met and the culture of the company that they described, and in the end, I realized I had nothing to hesitate about. I really got the feeling that the whole interview process was about figuring out if Nitor was the right place for me, as much as it was about figuring out if I was a good prospect for Nitor. The kindness and genuine interest in me as a person really struck me."

Joakim, while still on a mission to help clients succeed, is also looking forward to helping the Stockholm office evolve in the future.

"Whether it comes down to recruitment, looking for a new home for Nitor in Stockholm, or contributing to the culture, we have a really exciting journey ahead. I've been around for a while and have explored both consulting companies as well as product companies. I will try to take the best bits of all that with me to Nitor."
