🧑🚀 A Brief Description of Your Work
As a Lead Developer at Nitor, you'll spend most of your time coding, configuring, and integrating solutions on Shopify or Commercetools platforms - while guiding the technical direction of projects. You'll build custom applications, work with APIs, implement headless solutions, and storefront customizations. You'll serve as the project's technical lead, ensuring best practices, maintainability, and performance.
A significant part of the role involves understanding customers' business needs and making the right technical choices. You'll design and implement integrations with back-end systems. You'll also participate in solution design and the pre-sales phase, helping to choose the right approach before a single line of code is written.
Additionally, you'll act as a mentor and coach to other developers, helping the team elevate their capabilities. You'll keep an eye on the broader commerce and martech landscape so we can offer our clients the best possible solutions.
🤝 We're Building Our E-commerce and Digital Commerce Expertise
You'll play a key role in building our e-commerce and digital commerce expertise. Shopify or Commercetools are at the center of this journey, but we're also exploring other e-commerce platforms and the broader e-commerce and marketing automation ecosystem. Our goal is to deliver quality solutions to our clients while growing our internal expertise. Our gaze is firmly fixed on the future. When you join us, you'll be part of building something new - you won't be entering a ready-made situation but will have the opportunity to influence how we execute e-commerce projects at Nitor. With us, you can create the kind of work life you want, influencing our shared future.
Your future e-commerce colleagues value high technical competence, continuous learning, and a genuine desire to do quality work for clients. If the pieces fall into place, you'll complete this team exactly as you are.
✅ What Could You Bring with You?
You'll excel in this role when you have strong hands-on experience in Shopify or Commercetools development. You've implemented e-commerce projects from start to finish and understand both technical implementation and business needs.
You have strong skills in integrations with ERP, CRM, payment, logistics, and martech systems. When needed, you can build custom frontends using, for example, React, Next.js, or Vue. What matters most to us isn't individual technologies, but how you can apply them pragmatically to achieve clients' e-commerce goals.
Since the Lead Developer works directly with clients, you have good communication skills - you don't just build, but also justify your technical choices. You have experience guiding and mentoring developers in a team.
We consider hands-on experience with other e-commerce platforms or marketing automation tools an advantage.
Fluent Finnish and English language skills are important, as we have clients both domestically and internationally.
The more diverse experience you have, the more opportunities it opens up right from the start. However, we don't want to define too precisely what you should be like - the pieces can fall into place in so many ways.
🏆 What If You Choose Us?
We believe recruitment isn't about a company choosing a new employee. You ultimately make the choice. And we can help you with that.
You should get in touch with us if:
You want to be part of building something new - you'll be one of the key people shaping Nitor's e-commerce expertise
You want the freedom to build - no rigid processes, you decide what's the best way to solve a problem
Working alongside skilled colleagues, excellent development opportunities, and optimal working conditions are important to you
You're okay with working normal hours and ensuring that time off and work stay balanced
Your work and daily life are supported by diverse benefits and opportunities, for example:
You can use 10% of your work time for professional development
€7,100 "Rautapankki" (Iron Bank) for tool and home office purchases, which replenishes monthly
Full paid holidays from the start of employment regardless of start date
€100-2,000 bonus for each certificate you complete
Shared trips, events, and hobby groups from running clubs to board game circles
