🧑‍🚀 What does a Senior Data Engineer’s role at Nitor look like?

You'll create real business value and competitive advantage for our customers by helping them make better decisions with data. You’ll work pragmatically - solving business challenges and making an impact.

You’ll consult, develop, and drive forward innovations that help businesses and communities operate smarter and more agilely. Your daily work includes building data-intensive applications, automating and orchestrating data pipelines, and simplifying complexity with the latest technologies, efficient computing methods, and best practices. Our customer projects are typically challenging yet professionally rewarding. The projects provide an experienced Senior Data Engineer with the possibility to widely utilize and deepen their skill set.

A crucial part of your work will be interacting directly with clients - often also training their experts to use and maintain the solutions you build.

Our projects are typically long-term and challenging — but all the more rewarding. They allow you to deepen your expertise and continuously develop yourself. You'll work closely with our tight-knit and skilled community of data professionals.

From a technological perspective, programming languages, relational databases, tools for building data-intensive applications (like Spark and Kafka), and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) will be an essential part of your everyday work.

🤝 Our data business is growing rapidly

We have the experience and expertise to carry out significant, high-impact projects. Our customer satisfaction is among the highest in the industry, and we’re continuously developing our ways of working.

Our eyes are firmly set on the future. When you join us, you’ll help move us forward -  while we find you assignments that support your career growth and development, working alongside other talented Nitorians. Here, you’ll get to shape your work life while helping build our shared future.

Your future data team is a close-knit, startup-like community that values learning and boasts exceptionally high-level data expertise. If the pieces fit together, you’ll complement this team just as you are.

✅ What you could bring to the team

You’ll thrive in this role if you have a passion for developing high-quality code with modern methods, along with a mindset for mathematical thinking. We often work with Python, but depending on the project, you might also encounter Scala or Clojure. You have previous experience working as a Data Engineer and experience in consulting is a definite plus but not mandatory.

The more expertise you bring, the more opportunities will open up for you from day one. However, we don’t want to narrowly define what you "should" be like -  there are many ways the pieces can come together.

Since the field is evolving rapidly, it’s important that you are eager to learn new things and see challenges as opportunities.
